Boomers Love Retiring in Hampton Roads, VA

It’s no secret that Baby Boomers love to live in Hampton Roads, VA.  And it’s also no secret why.

After all, there’s always something entertaining for senior citizens to do in the Hampton Roads VA area.  And many of these events are free or relatively inexpensive.

Just take a look at some of the fun Hampton Roads events going on over the next several days:

Outdoor Concert: Olde Towne Portsmouth will host an outdoor concert featuring the musical stylings of the Tidewater Pipes and Drums.  This concert is free and open to the public.  Residents are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.

Shakespeare Play: If you have a strong appreciation for the literary works of William Shakespeare, then consider checking out this month’s performance of The Taming of the Shrew at Ropert Performing Arts Center.  Tidewater Community College’s interpretation of this classic play is truly unique.

Independence Day Celebration: Come celebrate the 4th of July with other Hampton Roads, VA area residents at Mount Trashmore Park this year. This annual event will feature live music, food and fireworks.   There will also be plenty of children’s activities so consider bringing your grandchildren as well!

Seafood Feast: If you love a good plate of seafood, I recommend you check out the 20th Annual Ocean View Crab and Sea Feast.  This annual event is always popular for its fun atmosphere, great live music and – of course – amazing seafood.

  • Where: Oceanview Beach Park, 100 W. Oceanview Ave in Norfolk, VA
